Kirsten Hasler.
Unilever Australia and New Zealand has appointed former IKEA head of marketing and insights, Kirsten Hasler, to chief marketing officer.
She replaces Anna Tracey, who took a short-term role after John McKeon moved to country GM in Malaysia earlier this year.
“Kirsten brings a unique combination of deep brand-building experience and a people-centric leadership style, shaped over more than a decade growing one of the world’s most iconic brands,” said Unilever ANZ chief executive Nick Bangs.
“What stands out is her ability to build strong, connected teams and foster a culture where creativity and curiosity can thrive. As we continue to evolve how we connect with consumers across ANZ, her perspective and energy will be invaluable and I’m really looking forward to the impact she will have as part of our ANZ leadership team.
“I’d like to thank Anna Tracey for her valuable leadership and contribution to Unilever ANZ over many years and wish her continued success in her new career chapter.”
At Unilever, Kirsten will lead marketing across ANZ, harnessing creativity to build desire at scale across all brands, strengthening brand power and stewarding social first demand creation in an increasingly dynamic consumer landscape.
She will begin her role in September.
Hasler said from shelving to shampoo, dining to deodorants, 'I’m so excited and thankful to be joining another iconic global company making a positive change to people’s everyday lives at home.'
"I didn’t think any brand, company or culture could ever come close to IKEA, until I met the team at Unilever," she said.
"I can’t wait to join and continue the work of John McKeon and Anna Tracey to grow the incredible brands that are part of the Unilever family.
"Thank you Nick Bangs for trusting me with your team and your brands."
