Turia Pitt is Hard Work

Turia Pitt, who suffered burns to 65% of her body from being trapped in a grass fire during an ultra-marathon, is sharing her wisdom as well as exploring the stories of others in the new podcast series, Turia Pitt is Hard Work created by LiSTNR.

She is globally recognised and admired for her grit and determination after the accident to continue to not only survive but thrive in her personal and professional life.

Turia will unpack and explore the stories behind others’ tales of rising from adversity and how it is so important to tackle life’s challenges in order to achieve growth.

The podcast asks the question: What do we learn about ourselves from doing hard things?

Guests include Professor Charlie Teo, best known for operating on high-risk and often deemed inoperable brain cancers; Jamila Rizvi, best-selling author and host of  The Weekend Briefing podcast, who has recently experienced extreme health challenges while raising a family and continuing to work; and Curtis McGrath, who took up competitive canoeing after having his legs amputated as a result of mine blast while serving in the Australian Army in Afghanistan. Other guests throughout the series include: Nikki WebsterRabia SiddiqueDr Yumiko Kadato and Kate Sanderson.

Turia Pitt: “I am so excited for the podcast to be released. The concept came about due to the realisation that in the 10 years since the fire, I’m still not sure what exactly it is that helps people get through hard times. So I wanted to chat to other people who have done really hard things, unbelievable feats, people who I really respect, love and admire – to find out what they thought helped them, and distill what we can all learn from that.”

LiSTNR Original Podcasts Head of Content, Sam Cavanagh: “Turia epitomises the word inspirational.  People will love these incredible conversations of Turia speaking to those who inspire her, to understand what we learn through adversity.”

Turia Pitt is Hard Work, is produced by LiSTNR’s Romy Sher and launches Friday, August 13, on the LiSTNR app.
