Media executive Tony Faure, former chief executive of early digital news play ninemsn, is stepping down after eight years as chair, and after 12 years as a director, of outdoor sector leader oOh!media.

He will be replaced on the ASX-listed company by Philippa Kelly, a director since September 2019 and the current chair of the Talent & Culture Committee. Kelly is currently a director and chair of the Investment Committee of AustralianSuper and a director of River Capital.

“It has been a privilege to have been part of oOh! since we listed in 2014, and to have been entrusted with the role of chair for the last eight and a half years,” said Faure.

“As I prepare to retire from the board, I have never been more confident about the strength of OOH as a category, and about oOh!media’s future as a category leader.

“Philippa’s knowledge of the company and diverse and extensive experience make her the ideal candidate to lead the board through the next chapter of oOh!’s evolution.

“Philippa will continue to work closely with (CEO) James (Taylor) and the management team to leverage the scale, reach and diversity of our network to deliver profitable market share growth and enhance long-term earnings quality.”

Philippa thanked Faure for his “outstanding” contribution.

“Tony’s deep experience in media, marketing and technology innovation, and his exceptional guidance as chair, have been invaluable to the company,” she said.

The board is “well progressed” in its search for a new non-executive director.
