TikTok has rolled out its first Australian brand campaign as the video-sharing app continues to scale locally.

‘It Starts with TikTok’, which launches today, will feature across all media around the nation, including advertising across the major TV networks.

The campaign, created with brand experience agency Akcelo, focuses on TikTok’s Australian creators, from TikTokers who have found fame on the app with millions of followers to everyday Australian on the app.

"This campaign represents a major investment in building the TikTok brand with consumers locally and further driving the incredible user growth we've seen this year,” says Brett Armstrong, general manager of global business solutions for TikTok AUNZ.

“Creating more opportunities for brands and advertisers to engage with Australian audiences in unique and creative ways remains our focus. Launching a major local brand campaign is a key element of our strategy, as we continue developing the TikTok platform in what is a priority market for us."

The campaign launches over the next six weeks with out-of-home display across NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA and ACT.

Two TV ads, including a 15-second and 30-second spot, will be aired across Seven, Nine, Ten and subscription TV during prime time. The campaign will also include videos across online and social media platforms, including Twitch, Google, 9Now, Facebook and Instagram.

It comes following TikTok’s first advertising campaign in the US in August.
