The WFH Diaries - Andreea Chirila of Kantar

By AdNews | 9 April 2020

AdNews brings the stories of those working from home (WFH) in the advertising and media industry during the coronavirus crisis.

Andreea Chirila is associate dirctor, Kantar Media & digital:

How are you dealing with the silence?
- I am ok, I live with another person and I think that helps as I am not completely on my own
- If it does get too quiet or flat I’ll ask Alexa to play something nice

What’s the upside?
- I get to wear more comfortable clothes and can change places around the house for variety as opposed to sitting at the same desk
- We take care of the house better because we want to make it a nice environment to be in: we clean more often, we ordered some new plants and scented candles, we even got ourselves a “Tea Station” set up during working hours

The downside?
- Relying on internet to do your job to the same speed and efficiency
- There is no meeting room, so need to make sure I coordinate calls/video meetings with my housemate who is in the same boat as me

How are you using the commuting time saved?
I am sleeping a bit longer but also using the extra time to do a bit of exercise at home in the morning, listen to some music as I wake up or cook myself a nice brekkie

I am looking forward to being back in the office because …
- I miss the human interaction, or simply the moments where you can turn around and say “hey, can I ask you a quick question on this…?”
- I also miss the team lunches
