The Project's Aly takes Gold Logie, Gruen gets nod

Last Night’s Logie Awards saw a strong haul for Network Ten and the ABC. The Project host Waleed Aly was the winner of the 2016 Gold Logie – Most Popular Personality on Television, pipping contenders including co-host Carrie Bickmore, Lee Lin Chin, Scott Cam, Essie Davies and Grant Denyer.

Aly also took the gong for best presenter for The Project and the show was named best current affairs show.

Wil Anderson’s ABC show Gruen, which centres on the advertising world, picked up Most Outstanding Entertainment Program, with regular co-host and Leo Burnett non-executive chairman Todd Sampson taking to the stage.
