Channel is turning to the audience to find the next host of The Project.

The show is once more looking for a fan who will do a stint in front of the cameras following the success of Your Chair last year, giving everyday punters a chance to join the desk as a co-host for the night.

One winner from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia will be selected and spend one night in the chair, joining hosts Carrie Bickmore, Peter Helliar and Rove McManus to talk through the issues of the day.

The winners from each state will appear on The Project from 3 November, with each winner getting one night in the hot seat.

Each of the winners will be interviewed the following morning on their local ARN breakfast radio show about the experience.

Bickmore said it was a great opportunity for everyday Australians to get their face on TV and opinions heard, and a great opportunity for her to get some fresh back up.

"I can't wait to have our guest co-host join me at the desk each night to help keep Peter and Rove in check," Bickmore said.

The competition starts today (15 October)  and runs until 28 October, with the winners to be announced on ARN breakfast radio shows on 31 October.
