Creative company The Many has acquired a majority stake in Australian immersive technology studio CatalystXR, combining creative and strategic capabilities with XR, VR, AR and large-scale interactive systems.
Commercial details haven’t been revealed.
CatalystXR has delivered projects across cultural institutions, mining, healthcare, sport and enterprise, with growing demand for systems supporting training, operational understanding and large-scale engagement.
"For a long time, businesses have tried to explain big ideas, changing strategies and complex systems through presentations, documents or advertising," said Damien Eley, CEO of The Many Australia.
"Immersive technology allows people to step inside those systems, to explore scenarios, test decisions and experience how things actually work."
Jamie Gilroy, founder of CatalystXR and incoming partner in charge of participatory technology at The Many, said demand was moving beyond experimentation.
"We're seeing a shift from curiosity-led pilots to strategic deployment across industries,” Gilroy said.
“This partnership allows us to scale that momentum globally, while expanding our capabilities across strategy, IP and product development."
The Many and CatalystXR will continue to operate as distinct entities in the near term while collaborating, with a long-term ambition to build a single integrated model.
The Many has offices in Sydney, Los Angeles and Vancouver. The deal was advised by Agency Futures.
