The international Advertising Association (IAA) is reaching out to all its friends and associates in the advertising and marketing business locally and around the world to help Australians impacted by the bushfires ravaging the nation.

The organisation has released an ad with the headline "C’mon Friends in the Marcom Industry Let’s Unite for Australia”.

It calls for those in the industry to join together to support Australians in their time of loss and despair by contributing donations to help them get back on their feet to re-build their lives and their communities.

The advertisement has been circulated to IAA chapters around the world with a message from IAA global managing director in New York, Dagmara Szulce.

“As a global brand, we are connected to our employees and members across 56 countries. We know each other by names, care about each other and act as a support network when needed," Szulce says.

"In the aftermath of the most recent bushfires in Australia, we're proposing to partner with all of you to launch a global campaign to help raise money to help Australia re-build homes and lives affected by the bushfires."

Szulce encouraged the industry to help raise funds through the page: redcross.org.au/marcomsupport.

“IAA Australia collaborated with IAA Global to develop this advertisement for the entire global marcom industry, companies and individuals, to do their bit to help and support everyday Australians (our customers) in their times of need," IAA Australia Chairman Emeritus Heather Leembruggen says.

"Most importantly it is to show them that we really care. So let’s walk the talk and donate to this industry appeal to show that you as well as the Australian industry cares about our fellow Aussies.”

A special donation fund has been set up with Red Cross Australia Disaster Relief & Recovery Fund for marketing communications industry companies and members and all those involved in our industry are encouraged to contribute to this appeal.

The IAA joins a number of others in the industry showing their support for those impacted by the bushfires. To find out other ways to show your support, check out our story here for more details.
