The Bachelor continues to win hearts

Ten's The Bachelor has continued to win hearts across the country, taking the top entertainment show last night with 922,000 metro viewers, according to preliminary overnight figures.

The show peaked at 1.2 million metro viewers which makes last night's audience the show's biggest ever, excluding finales and was the sixth most watched show of the evening.

It also picked up the to spot in the 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54 age demographics.

Insights from Meltwater Group found that trending twitter themes in Australia included “Bachelor”, “Sam Wood” and contestant “Sandra” who was evicted from the show.

It also found that brand tags including Qashqai, the model of Nissan currently advertised as part of a sponsorship with the show was also part of a trending “conversation cloud” in last night's viewing.

Nine's The Hotplate picked up 764,000 viewers as the ninth most watch show of the night.

However Network Seven won the night with 26.9% audience share. Followed by Nine on 26.6%.

Ten picked up 20.6% audience share while ABC took 18.2% and SBS had 7.7%.
