Telstra's Rebecca Haagsma returns to Nine as chief product officer

Nine has appointed senior digital executive Rebecca Haagsma to the newly created role of chief product officer. 

She will lead Nine’s digital product capability, encompassing product vision, strategy, management, and design, as well as data product.

Haagsma: “This is an awesome leadership role, working across the whole of the business, with a fantastic team to drive even more strategic focus and accelerate the digital transformation through the delivery of amazing digital experiences.

“I'm looking forward to bringing my leadership, and strategic product capabilities, back to the media and entertainment business, and working to drive growth and value for the business and our customers.” 

Haagsma  joins Nine from Telstra, where she was on the product and technology senior leadership team and held strategy, commercial, relationship and digital product responsibilities across Telstra, including Telstra TV, Foxtel, Sport, Telstra Payphone and Outdoor Network.

Nine’s Chief Digital Officer, Alex Parsons: “Bec is an exceptional talent and brings more than 20 years’ experience in product innovation and digital media leadership to the role.

"In addition to her recent experiences at Telstra, Bec was previously with the Nine business where she was an integral part of the creation of the strategy, development and launch of 9Now."

Haagsma starts in early July.
