Taylor jumps over to SMG

Starcom MediaVest Group Australia (SMG) will have a new national investment director next year, with OMD New Zealand's Andy Taylor jumping across the ditch.

He will bring 20 years of experience to SMG, including stints at Aegis in the UK and time at the Daily Mail and Titan Outdoor.

SMG said in a statement that it valued Taylor's time on "both sides of the fence", with CEO Chris Nolan adding the search was extensive.

"We took the time to find the right candidate for this role and we’ve found this in Andy,” Nolan said.

"Andy brings a wealth of experience in the investment discipline, having worked with agency and publishers,we are really excited to have him join the team. I’m sure he will provide huge benefits for our clients."

The news followd the recent Treasury Wine Estates and Seek wins, and successful retention of Samsung.

Taylor's appointment is effective from Januray 1 next year.
