Digital and creative production agency Tag has expanded Gate, its specialist craft production capability, into the Japan and Asia-Pacific (JAPAC) region.

Gate combines expertise across film, photography, CGI, VFX, sound and post-production to help brands create content and campaigns at scale through a global network of production talent, technology and creative craft.

As part of the expansion, Nigel Kenneally has been appointed production lead, Gate JAPAC, based in Bangkok.

Simon Lewis, CEO of Gate, said expanding into JAPAC was a natural next step for the business.

"We've worked with clients across the region for many years, expanding our presence in JAPAC is a natural next step,” Lewis said.

“There is exceptional creative talent throughout the region and a growing need for production partners who can connect local expertise with global capabilities.

"Nigel has built an outstanding reputation throughout his career and understands both the creative and production sides of the business. His experience, relationships and understanding of the market make him the ideal person to lead this next chapter for Gate and Tag.”

Kenneally has held senior production leadership roles throughout Australia and Asia, including with Publicis Mojo, Lowe and Partners, Nissan United (TBWA) and Plakat Productions, spanning advertising, content production and integrated campaigns across a range of industries and markets.

Kenneally said clients were looking for work that solves business challenges.

"Clients aren't looking for technology for technology's sake,” he said.

“They're looking for great work that solves business challenges. What excites me about Gate is our ability to bring together the right creative talent, production expertise and technologies to deliver the best outcome for every brief.

"It's a flexible, hybrid approach that combines world-class craft with new ways of working while always keeping quality at the centre. That's incredibly valuable for brands navigating increasingly complex production needs.”
