Sundance Fitness Media has formalised a multi-year exclusive media partnership with ASX-listed gym operator Viva Leisure, extending a collaboration that began in 2024.

Viva Leisure is Australia's second-largest gym group, with close to 500 locations and more than 650,000 members.

Its portfolio includes Club Lime, Plus Fitness, HiiT Republic, Rebalance and GroundUp, along with equity stakes in World Gym Australia and BFS.

Under the arrangement, Sundance Fitness Media operates an in-club advertising network across Viva Leisure venues, giving brands access to more than 700 digital screens across NSW, VIC, QLD, ACT, WA and NT, as well as static placements, experiential activations and product sampling.

Andrew Sneddon, CEO of Sundance Fitness Media, said the partnership had moved quickly.

"Working with Viva Leisure has been highly productive as both their business, and the network continue to evolve, and grow,” he said.

“They are agile in their decision-making, have been quick to market, and we are all excited by what has been achieved in a short period of time. We are proud to be offering advertisers a compelling way to reach new active, health-conscious audiences.”

Sneddon co-founded Collective Media in 2014, which held advertising rights across Anytime Fitness gyms in Australia before being acquired by Hoyts/Val Morgan Outdoor.

He then led the VMO Active division as commercial director for six years.

Craig Wagstaff, Viva Leisure's national manager for revenue and partnerships, said the network's scale was growing.

"As our network continues to expand, in terms of health club locations, the scale and numbers of memberships and display screens in particular, the access to audiences for brands and their scope to engage with an opted-in cohort of consumers, continues to grow in significance," he said.

Current advertising partners include Nike, YoPro, Musashi, EHP Labs, Chemist Warehouse, the Victorian and ACT governments and Red Bull.

Advertising director Allison Takopoulos, who joined Sundance in early 2025, leads advertiser partnerships and commercial strategy. She was previously at Active Media Group and VMO.
