Starcom Australia has strengthened its national leadership team with new appointments across its Sydney and Melbourne offices.

The shake-up, which includes promotions and new hires, is an attempt to create a leadership structure which supports a greater focus on product development and service output.

As part of the changes, Nancy Lan has been promoted from Sydney managing director to national managing director. Lan is now responsible for leading Starcom’s “People-Powered Growth” culture in all markets, along with client service outputs and team resources.

Louise Romeo, previously chief client officer, returns from maternity leave to the elevated role of national head of operations and investment. In this role, Romeo will add the development of automation, and client self-service reporting to her remit. She will also work with her team on key craft systems and processes for Stacom’s clients.

David Campbell, client services director has also been promoted to the new position of head of Melbourne and group integration. Campbell is responsible for leading the Melbourne office, while also further enhancing the agency’s group marketing integration services.

“The promotion of Nancy, David, and Louise will create a leadership structure that caters for the increasing demands of our product, service, and group marketing solutions for our clients,” says Starcom Australia CEO Nick Keenan

“This sets our agency up for a successful 2022 so that we can continue to not only execute impactful media campaigns, but further our transition to being a digitally-led agency. Our goal is to deliver paid media, digital performance and experience design integrations that enhances our clients’ direct-to-consumer platforms and conversion results.”

The agency has also made three new hires in its Melbourne office, with Ivo Kavelj joining as Melbourne head of HX solutions; Helen Karambilas as groupe business director on Bega; and Louise Noble as business director on FCA.

In the Sydney office, Jacqui Purcell returns to Starcom as client services director to lead Metcash, Aware Super, and Visa.

“We are excited to see the strengthening of Starcom’s capabilities across paid media, while scaling up our specialist services in performance and technology, led by Mark Duffy,” Keenan says.

“With that, we welcome Ivo to investment and technology, and Helen, Lou, and Jacqui in client service. Their outstanding talent will undoubtedly strengthen and support the exciting developments taking place within Starcom Australia.”
