Dan Taylor has resigned as executive director of Stan to become CEO of the Melbourne Football Club.

Nine Entertainment has yet to name a successor at the streaming service.

Taylor was appointed to the Stan role less than a year ago, as part of Nine's restructure of its streaming and broadcast divisions in July 2025, taking responsibility for Stan's profit and loss performance.

AdNews understands he will remain at Stan for at least three months to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

Nine is expected to announce its leadership plans in due course.

At Stan, Taylor oversaw Stan Entertainment and Stan Sport, spanning business strategy, content, platform, marketing and business development.

His career also includes senior roles at Macquarie Capital and REA Group.

Taylor said he was looking forward to the challenge.

"The club has a proud history and clear ambition, and I look forward to working with the board, executive team, staff and players to ensure its ongoing success," he said.

"This is a special opportunity. I can't wait to get started."

Nine Entertainment has been contacted for comment.
