Spotify is rolling outs its paid podcast subscription offer to help creators monetise content.

From today, the tool will be available to 12 independent creators in the US. Spotify plans to roll it out to additional markets in the coming months.

The tool, available in Spotify’s podcasting platform Anchor, allows podcast creators to mark certain episodes as subscriber-only content and publish it to Sptofty and other podcast platforms.

Creators can choose between three tiers for the cost of subscriptions; $2.99, $4.99 or $7.99 per month.

Spotify is making the program free for creators for the next two years and participating creators will receive 100% of their subscriber revenue.

However, from 2023 Spotify plans to introduce a 5% fee for access to the tool.
