Spider-Man: Brand New Day has surpassed $2 billion USD at the global box office.

The milestone makes it the 2nd fastest film in history to cross the $2 billion mark, trailing only Avengers: Endgame, and cements its place as the 3rd highest grossing superhero movie of all time.

The Australian audience has pushed past the 3 million admission mark and more than $69.3 million at the Australian box office in just two and a half weeks in market.

The film now ranks as the 8th biggest movie  released and stands as the highest grossing film since Barbie in 2023.

The Odyssey continues its own strong run locally, sitting at 2.3 million admissions and $52.8 million at the Australian box office, and has become the first film in history to cross $10 million at the Australian box office in IMAX alone.

"These are exactly the kinds of results that show why brands want to be part of Cinema,” said Val Morgan Cinema managing director Guy Burbidge.

“The numbers are extraordinary. Having Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey both dominating screens at once has created a real buzz around just how strong the industry is right now, and there's even more to come as cinema heats up to its hottest summer on record.

“Come December, Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three won't just share a release date, they’ll share audiences on the same day. It won't be a question of what to see, it'll be which one to see first.

“With The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Digger, The Social Reckoning and Focker In-Law still to come this year, cinema is popping, and momentum shows no signs of slowing down."
