Special Group took out four awards at the AdNews Agency of the Year, including Independent Agency of the Year presented by NOVA Entertainment, as well as Ad Campaign of the Year.

The Independent Agency of the Year award was presented by Peter Charlton, CEO of NOVA, to Lindsey Evans, the CEO of Special Group.

She said: "This is for the beautiful humans at Devonshire Street or in their lounge rooms, or bedrooms or closets in Melbourne and in Sydney.

"We are really privileged to have such an amazing group of ambitious and brave clients."

Ad Campaign of the Year was Tourism New Zealand’s Good Morning World campaign.

It was so good the judges started planning their move across the ditch soon after reviewing this entry.

They felt it had authentic insight and content to create a dynamic uplifting campaign.

“This is an ad you look for rather than wait to be served,” said the judges.

The agency also won the Best use of Content with Uber Eats, Tonight, Kim & Shaz will be Eating.

The judges said: "Noice. This campaign was bold, brave and well-executed. Who would have thought of bringing together an unlikely duo -- Sharon (Magda Szubanski) and Kim Kardashian – and putting them in a Kath & Kim skit. The content is compelling.”special

Special Group Australia also won Innovative Use of Media, with Uber Eats, Australian Open Ambush.

The judges: “This campaign produced incredible results for the brand. It was well-executed and memorable beyond just the advertising industry. In a short space of time the brand was able to get their message across. Every element was perfect.”

AdNews is delighted to partner with Google, PubMatic, Outdoor Media Association, SpotX, NOVA Entertainment, IVE and Adstream for the AdNews Agency of the Year. AdNews would also like to thank Andrew Sherman, founder and CEO of The Transition Coach, for offering the winner of the Emerging Leader award an Executive Coaching program of eight coaching sessions.
