EXCLUSIVE: Austereo marketing boss Nikki Clarkson is to become head of marketing and communications at Southern Cross Media (SCM), following SCM's $741 million takeover of Austereo.

Clarkson will manage marketing for SCM’s regional TV and radio assets, while continuing to oversee Austereo’s five radio networks. Kathy Hobart, who oversaw promotions and marketing before the takeover, will remain with the company, but it is uncertain in what capacity.

The structure of the newly formed company has been gradually coming to fruition since the merger was completed in mid-April and a six-month integration process was initiated.

At the beginning of May, it was revealed that Austereo chief executive Guy Dobson would be SCM head of metro radio, answering directly to SCM chief executive Rhys Holleran.

Austereo executive chairman Peter Harvie is helping with the transition process while SCM chairman Max Moore-Wilton will remain in his role.
