Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney has promoted award-winning, senior TV producer Michael Demosthenous to executive producer – head of TV/content.

A multi-disciplinary producer with degrees in Media Screen Production and Law, Demosthenous has produced award-winning work recognised by Cannes Lions, D&AD, Effie, New York Festivals, One Show, Spikes, WARC and The Webby Awards. He is also an award-winning writer/director.

Saatchi & Saatchi Australia chief creative officer, Mike Spirkovski, says Demosthenous has been recognised for his industry experience.

“Following his rise from star suit to senior producer, and as the indispensable backbone of the Saatchi Sydney TV department, Mikey D is all class and one of the most level-headed creative producers I know. His opinions always count as does his care for creativity. He always strives to make the work better.

“In addition, having an EP who understands the modern day creative and production challenges we all face as an industry has never been more important. It is this experience that helps us to deliver the best work possible,” says Spirkovski.

Demosthenous has 15 years’ production experience in advertising and television working on global brands. During his tenure at Saatchi & Saatchi, he has helped to deliver highly-creative and effective work across the agency’s biggest brands, including Toyota, St.George, Bank SA, RAMS, Ampol, NRMA, Nescafe and Ancestry.

Demosthenous says he is proud of the outstanding work he has created with the agency.

“I’m incredibly honoured to take the helm of the TV department at this exceptional agency," Demosthenous  says.

"Together we have created world-class work and I’m excited about leading our team and continuing to connect with our production partners to break new ground.”

Before joining Saatchi & Saatchi in 2010, via The Communications Council’s graduate programme, Demosthenous worked in breakfast television and news production.
