The Victorian Electoral Commission has appointed Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne as its lead agency following a competitive pitch.

The agency appointment comes ahead of the Victorian election next year.

AdNews understands Clemenger, Y&R, Grey and The Royals were involved in the pitch process.

“We are both humbled and privileged to help the Victorian Electoral Commission deliver democracy to our great state. Together, we look forward to doing great things ahead of the election in November," Saatchi & Saatchi Melbourne MD Mark Cochrane says.

Grey won the Victorian Electoral Commission back in 2010 and Initiative has held the media since 2012.

Sue Lang, Victorian Electoral Commission, Director of Communication and Engagement said: “The VEC is excited at the prospect of working with the Saatchi & Saatchi team to deliver on its vision of all Victorians actively participating in their democracy.”
