Robbie Bempasciuto, a partner at Ugly Duckling Projects, has been appointed managing director of production and content company, Prodigious.

He has had more than 20 years of international branding and communications experience across Europe, Asia and Australia. He has also previously worked at Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi in Sydney, and in Singapore as general manager.

“I’m thrilled to be leading the talented team at Prodigious in Australia, as we look to fuel further growth through creativity, strategy and innovation," he says.

"We will be focused on enhancing the way we think and make – ensuring that we are the signal, not the noise when it comes to content. I look forward to collaborating with the many brilliant, cross-discipline leaders at Publicis Groupe.”

Bempasciuto starts in his new role next month, charged with continuing to drive the craft in production output, innovation in content, and growth for Prodigious to ensure the product remains at the forefront of a culture fuelled by video.

Publicis Groupe ANZ CEO Michael Rebelo: “Robbie represents a unique breed of production company leader. He has years of international experience in creativity, coupled with a decade of building and leading a progressive production and content business. I am looking forward to working with Robbie again in this new era where creativity in film and video will be the competitive advantage clients re-embrace.”

Bempasciuto replaces Suzie Baker, who has left the business to spend more time with her family and two children.

Rebelo said: “We say farewell to a wonderful leader and person in Suzie Baker. Over the past four and a half years, Suzie has built a world-class production company from a blank sheet of paper. I would like to thank Suzie for her drive and commitment, always pushing to deliver great work for clients, our agencies and her people.”
