Richards Rose, independent creative agency, has appointed Dennis Hurley to head up strategy.

Digby Richards, CEO of Richards Rose, said: “We interviewed some exceptional candidates over the last few months but felt Dennis was the best fit for us.

"It was the combination of his pedigree experience, both here and in New York, his passion to distil the complex, his love for our existing ‘move’ philosophy and his personable nature that landed Dennis the role."

Hurley has a body of experience with over 20 years in strategy with long stints at DDB & Publicis in Australia and at JWT & McCann in New York and in recent times was the lead strategist for Optus in M&C’s specialist agency Re and Yes.

Hurley brings category experience with Mastercard, Verizon (US Telco), Nestle, J&J, McDonald’s, CommBank, Tourism Australia, VW, Toyota, Domino’s, Colonial First State and Optus. He has also completed the Harvard Business School Program for Leadership Development, a two-semester course, akin to a rapid-fire Harvard MBA.

Richards said: “Dennis will become a member of our strong leadership team and will be tasked with future proofing our effective Move Model and of course inspiring our creative thinking.

"He will also help us maintain an enviable Effies track record across our valued suite of clients and brands."
