Ben Cooper has worked on AI strategies for clients including Uber and Studio Space.
Creative agency R/GA has formed a global AI Products team and appointed Ben Cooper as the global executive director to lead the unit.
The move is backed by the company’s new AUD $76.9 million innovation fund.
The newly established team includes AI specialists in consulting, design and development, with collective experience delivering more than 100 AI products for tech firms and agencies.
The group is tasked with creating bespoke AI tools and platforms aimed at driving both brand growth and operational efficiency.
“This isn’t about doing the same things faster, it’s about evolving what’s possible and creating products that change how brands think, move and grow," Cooper said.
“That’s the opportunity, and that’s the kind of work I’ve come here to lead.”
Cooper is known for past work including Optus’ ‘Clever Buoy’ shark detection system and NRMA’s ‘Fireblanket’.
He previously founded consultancy Brainstrust, worked on AI strategies for clients including Uber and Studio Space, and held roles at The Monkeys and M&C Saatchi’s Tricky Jigsaw. He also led the 2025 D&AD AI & Creativity Report.
Cooper will report to R/GA’s global head of AI Products, Michael Titshall.
“Our AI Products team will enable creativity previously not possible, opening up new growth opportunities for our clients,” Titshall said.
The AI Products team builds on R/GA’s existing work, including its AI Search Optimisation Platform (AISOP), and will focus on areas such as predictive personalisation, generative interfaces, and brand tools designed for AI-driven environments.
