Queensland advertising campaign to hit G20

Trading opportunities in Queensland will be at the heart of a government-backed advertising campaign targeting high-profile leaders and their influencers at the forthcoming G20 summit.

Entitled ‘Endless Opportunities’, the $700,000 campaign developed by Queensland’s Treasury Department, Trade & Investment Queensland in association with Brisbane creative agency BCM and MediaCom, will hit the state capital in time for the arrival of the world’s leaders on November 15-16.

The campaign, which will show the economic benefits of trading and investing in Queensland, will take a highly-targeted form with particular focus on hitting delegates, their advisors and media in their footprint across the city.

BCM, which designed the logo and branding, has worked with MediaCom to develop a highly-targeted online campaign using Google’s ad platform to present Queensland-themed spots on sites accessed by those attending the summit.

BCM MD Kevin Moreland told AdNews: "The campaign is a highly targeted one, which considers the movement and media consumption of delegates during their time at the G20 in Brisbane.”

Advertising on a Forbes-edited G20 magazine will also be booked, including a wraparound front cover, while interactive ads will be placed in the conference centre and in hotels. Meanwhile, an outdoor billboard campaign has been booked from the city’s outer limits at the airport to the conference centre itself.

“Endless Opportunities branding follows the 2013 Review into Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) which recommended a single, unified and consistent brand for Queensland to maximise its push into the international and export markets,” said a spokesperson for the Queensland Government.

The branding will also be made freely available to all Queensland businesses.
