QMS has gone-live with the Auckland Transport (AT) street furniture concession, taking over exclusive rights to nearly 2,000 existing advertising panels across the network.
oOh!media was told in July hat its contract would not be renewed.
Adam Trevena, QMS NZ director, said the transition marks a new era of innovation, growth and public utility for out of home advertising in Auckland.
“The immediate activation of the street furniture network is the first step in a transformative program that will elevate the network's capabilities, including investment into new digital technology across key locations, delivered with the operational expertise of QMS Australia," said Trevena.
"We are confident the investment in this network will deliver greater value for Auckland Transport, our advertising partners and the people of Auckland."
Simon Soulsby, Auckland Transport's head of OOH media and partnerships, said this is an exciting milestone.
“We look forward to the opportunities this brings advertisers, and the revenue returns that Aucklanders will benefit from," Soulsby said.
QMS chief sales officer, Tim Murphy, said the concession will improve the scale and model of New Zealand's out-of-home advertising industry.
“The Auckland Transport street furniture concession is a true game-changer that re-shapes the way OOH will be planned and bought in New Zealand. Our clients can now look forward to new and innovative campaign solutions, that are easy to plan and buy across New Zealand’s #1 OOH network," he said.
