QMS NZ, in partnership with Wellington Airport, has launched a new landmark digital large format billboard.
Named "The WLG" after Wellington’s IATA airport code, the 15-metre x 5-metre screen is the first external digital large format site at the airport.
Situated on the main arterial route, the billboard is designed to dominate the journey from the terminal toward the city's central business and government districts.
The site joins an airport advertising network that services more than five million domestic and international passengers annually. QMS NZ serves as the exclusive out-of-home (OOH) provider for the airport, with an offering that includes internal and external assets as well as experiential opportunities.
“‘The WLG’ is a game-changer for brands seeking market dominance in the Wellington market," said Adam Trevena, QMS NZ director.
"This exclusive, high-impact billboard delivers unparalleled scale over the main route into the capital, guaranteeing attention from influential business leaders and high-net-worth consumers.
"It represents a powerful new addition to the already extensive QMS NZ Wellington Airport offering."
Trevena said the WLG’s’ strategic position makes it the exclusive OOH asset on a pivotal, high-frequency gateway into Wellington.
"Its massive scale and digital capability allows for high-impact creative to target an extremely attentive, affluent, and captive audience, securing its position as an essential media asset for national and regional brands," he said.
The addition follows a period of growth for the airport, which has seen passenger numbers recover to pre-pandemic levels.
The airport’s commercial leadership noted that the digital expansion is part of a broader commitment to premium facility enhancements.
“Wellington Airport is committed to enhancing the passenger journey through premium facilities," said Wellington Airport general manager, commercial, Richard Dalby.
"This strategic site, in partnership with QMS NZ, elevates our advertising offering, provides a visually dynamic environment for our customers, and reinforces our position as a premier location for brands across Aotearoa.”
