Qantas is finalising its creative agency for its 'Project Sunrise' initiative, a 2027 plan to launch ultra-long-haul, non-stop flights from Australia to London and New York using specially configured Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.
The trips are expected to save up to four hours of travel time compared to one-stop flights.
The pitch process is still ongoing, however Droga5 ANZ, Part of Accenture Song, and M+C Saatchi Australia are in the running, AdNews can confirm.
M+C Saatchi Australia held the creative account for 16 years until 2011. Qantas now works on a project-by-project basis with a roster of agencies.
Recent campaigns include former The Monkeys, now Droga5 ANZ, part of Accenture Song's 'I Still Call Australia Home', Howatson+Co's 'Already Proud' and Convict's 'Australia in the Sky'.
Qantas longer-term partnerships include Howatson+Co for Frequent Flyer creative, OMD for media, and Medium Rare for its in-flight magazine content.
