Triton Digital’s Podcast Ranker for November 2023 has been released, with Hamish & Andy remaining at number one in both the Top 100 Ranker and Top 100 All-Australian Ranker.
The comedy duo racked up 1,049,514 monthly listeners and over 2 million monthly downloads in November, the only podcast to break the 1 million monthly listener mark in the month.
Casefile True Crime finished at second with 883,406 monthly listeners to go along with over 2.3 million monthly downloads. Shameless Media remained in third place with 651,112 monthly listeners, while Mamamia Out Loud was in fourth with 628,058 monthly listeners.
This month the Ranker introduced a new publisher, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, which is known for several podcasts, including Conversations, ABC News Daily, and If You’re Listening that debuted within the top 25 for both the Top 200 Australian-Made Ranker and Top Podcast Ranker.
Conversations debuted at fifth in the TopPodcast Ranker with 538,786 monthly listeners and a November-high of 5,489,175 monthly downloads.
ARN/iHeartMedia and LiSTNR (SCA) remained at the top two in the Top Publishers rankings, while the Australian Broadcasting Corporation debuted at third, tallying over 2.5 million monthly listeners and close to 29 million monthly downloads.
ARN’s head of digital audio, Corey Layton, said as the Podcast Ranker grows in importance, so has Australia’s engagement with ARN's slate that’s enjoyed by over 75% of Australian podcast listeners.
"I wanted to thank our incredible partners and the iHeart team who continue to capture audience attention to be entertained, educated and to escape," he said.
SCA executive head of LiSTNR Podcasts, Grant Tothill, said as the ABC joins the Podcast Ranker for the first time, it’s great to see LiSTNR maintain its publisher position and remain Australia’s biggest podcast Sales Representatives Network.
"Hamish & Andy being number one again is a remarkable and unrivalled feat, as LiSTNR also releases the fifth season of Hamish & Andy’s Remembering Project," he said.
“It has been a strong year for the LiSTNR team with success in publishing new formats and titles to attract new audiences and offer advertisers more opportunity to reach them.”
