Triton Digital’s Podcast Ranker for August 2023 has been released, with Hamish & Andy remaining at number one in both the Top 100 Ranker and Top 100 All-Australian Ranker.

The comedy duo racked up 1,046,689 monthly listeners and over 2.2 million monthly downloads in August.

The top three remained unchanged from the June rankings; Casefile True Crime was in second with 661,755 monthly listeners and just over 2 million monthly downloads. Mamamia Out Loud registered 627,683 monthly listeners to go along with over 1.8 million monthly downloads.

Shameless Media jumped three spots from the July ranker, finishing at fourth with 577,675 monthly listeners. The Imperfects dropped to fifth with 561,091 monthly listeners.

ARN/iHeartMedia and LiSTNR (SCA) remained at first and second and third in the Top Publishers rankings, with ARN/iHeartMedia totalling over 5 million monthly listeners and over 21 million monthly downloads, nearly double the amount of the next nearest publisher. SiriusXM Podcast Network knocked Audioboom out of their long-held spot of third by totalling over 2.2 million monthly listeners and over 7.7 million monthly downloads.

The August Podcast Ranker marks a historical 40consecutive months for ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network Australia as the nation’s #1 publisher,

ARN’s head of digital audio, Corey Layton, said hitting the big 40 is the result of ARN's incredible partners and team continuing to capture the attention of Australian ears and brands.

"With 81% of Australian podcast listeners choosing to hear one of our shows, today’s result showcases the strength of our phenomenal slate" he said.

SCA executive head of LiSTNR Podcasts, Grant Tothill, said it’s great to see Hamish & Andy continue their run as the most listened to podcast and the early growth of LiSTNR's new podcast titles, which debuted in the ranker, supporting its commitment and investment in commissioning and creating podcasts for Australian audiences.

“The growth of factual investigative storytelling and our sports podcasts is very encouraging and rewarding for our teams and continues to offer new audiences and opportunities for advertisers," he said.
