Playstation partners Take 40 radio charts to create singalong

Prepare yourself for some cringe-worthy karaoke, because Take 40 has partnered with SingStar to launch a live radio sing-along. The campaign gives listeners the opportunity to listen, perform and share their karaoke performances to songs that are played on the national radio show.

The interactive campaign will run across Take 40’s mobile app and website. Listeners are encouraged to record a short clip of them singing along to one of the tracks that feature on the Take 40 show. Listeners have to download the Take 40 app, listen out for the competition song that will feature on the show and then the recording function will be activated.

The best, recorded clips will be featured on the Take 40 show the following week, giving listeners the opportunity to get their fifteen minutes of fame impersonating Taylor Swift or One Direction.  The partnership celebrates the 10th anniversary release of the SingStar game.

Jonathan Hopkins, strategy and marketing director at Authentic Entertainment, said: "Our audience data highlights that more and more people are engaging with our Take 40 app while the show is on air. Our partnership with SingStar leverages this behaviour to full effect and brings two well-loved music properties together to create a unique music activation that benefits both brands.”
