WPP Media is leading when it comes to media business wins in Australia for the nine months to September, according to COMvergence’s New Business Barometer.
The local arm of the UK-based global company generated $US180 million in part due to Suncorp ($93 million) and Lion ($50 million).

Publicis Media ranked second with $147 million, driven by a mix of local and global accounts, including Paramount ($34 million), Mars ($34 million), Aldi ($30 million) and Flight Centre ($27 million).
Dentsu with $21 million was third.
At the agency level, EssenceMediacom continued to be ranked first in total new business, generating $108 million, supported in part by Lion and NRL ($15 million).
Mindshare was second with $102 million thanks to the biggest win of the year so far, Suncorp.
Zenith ranked third with $72 million in total with thanks in part to wins from Mars ($34 million), Aldi ($30 million) and Flight Centre ($27 million).
COMvergence assessed 145 media account moves and retentions totaling $914 million. Local reviews made up 77% of the total spend which is above the global report average of 56%.
