Australian communications and advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi has hosted Workplace Giving Australia’s member corporations and charities at a joint event.

Held in Pyrmont in Sydney, at Saatchi & Saatchi’s Publicis Groupe ANZ offices, the event was attended by organisations and charities keen to learn more about using creativity for good causes.

Saatchi & Saatchi’s chief executive officer, Patrick Rowe, and Publicis Groupe ANZ’s chief creative officer, Dave Bowman, shared examples from the recent Cannes Festival of how creativity can be used to build stronger connections between companies and their people via a common cause.

Workplace giving enables support for causes while fostering a sense of purpose and unity within organisations. Recent research highlights that workplace giving offers advantages beyond good corporate citizenship and taxation benefits, with analysis highlighting workforce expectations and talent retention.

According to 85% of the survey respondents, it is personally important that a company has a workplace giving program. The research also showed that if employers matched staff donations and these employees gave one extra dollar per week, charities could receive an additional $1 billion annually.
