The Media Agencies of Australia's (IMAA) first live Academy session saw 50 attendees certified in the newly launched publishing and news module.

The industry association launched the e-learning course last year, now with eight modules, to help educate staff at independent agencies on the foundations of media.

Hosted at News Corp Australia HQ and in partnership with ThinkNewsBrands, as a group attendees completed the e-course work and quiz, with the addition of a panel featuring industry pioneers.

The panel was moderated by Vanessa Lyons, CEO ThinkNewsBrands, featuring Paul Blackburn, director commercial data video and product at News Corp Australia, Aimie Rigas, director of audience development and publishing at Nine, and Jakeb Waddell, sports editor at SWM.
