AdNews is following the WFH Diaries with a series of Perspectives, asking two questions: What did you learn in 2021 and what are you looking forward to in 2022? We've also encouraged the industry to glam, dress for the best, and face next year with optimism.

Nikola Small, Seller Lead Australia at Magnite:

I thought I had mastered the art of multitasking, but 2021 comprehensively shot that down.  Lockdown, juggling work, a toddler and being pregnant again gave me a big reality check.  On the plus side, lockdown also gave me ring-side seats to watch and experience firsthand the exponential growth in CTV in Australia.  It’s such an exciting market and I realised just how fortunate I am to be an active part of it.

What are you looking forward to in 2022?

It will be fascinating to see how ‘work-life-balance’ is defined in 2022 with all the learnings of 2021 under our belt.  Pre-COVID the work / life boundaries were much clearer, but lockdowns changed everything.  How do we establish boundaries between work time versus personal time when working from home becomes more straightforward? Will workplace flexibility become the default? How will businesses and employees reach that perfect balance?  With the talent shortage looming large over our industry and burnout being so prevalent due to lockdowns, these are critical questions to be answered in 2022.
