AdNews is following the WFH Diaries with a series of Perspectives, asking two questions: What did you learn in 2021 and what are you looking forward to in 2022? We've also encouraged the industry to glam, dress for the best, and face next year with optimism.

Lee Leggett, Chief Executive Officer, Wunderman Thompson

If 2021 taught us anything, it’s that we’re a resilient bunch that can do some amazing things from our homes. It’s been a year where we truly have connected not only as a national team but a global one, all working together to create inspiring and impactful work.

Most importantly, we’ve connected and learnt more about each other outside our job titles (& our dining rooms, kids, pets, parents, and everything else floating in the zoom background).

It’s why I’m not going to make any big statements for 2022, because what we’re all really looking forward to is being back together. It’s making a cup of tea in the kitchen and talking about our weekends, the random corridor conversations or celebrating the small wins at the agency pub. There is something nice about these ordinarily tiny moments in office that, if it weren’t for the past two years, we wouldn’t appreciate. It’s these small pockets of human connection we’ve all missed and we’re looking forward to getting back to in 2022.
