Paul Bradbury, the CEO of TBWA\AUNZ has resigned after almost two decades with the agency, insiders confirmed.
This comes after the appointment of Nick Garrett to oversee all of Omnicom’s business units in Australia, including media, creative and public relations.
The Australian quoted industry sources saying Bradbury’s resignation was due to differences of opinion regarding Mr Garrett’s role.
The global advertising group today announced the formation of Omnicom Oceania, aligning practice areas across Australia and New Zealand including media and creative agencies, PR, performance marketing and production under a unified leadership structure.
The organisation will be led by Garrett as CEO. He comes from four years at Deloitte Digital where he joined as a brand & creative partner in 2021. Within his first year he joined the global leadership team, later becoming global CMO.
Bradbury joined what was then Whybin TBWA in 2007 as general manager, was promoted to managing director in 2008 and to chief executive in 2010.
In an interview with Simon Hadfield for AdNews last year, Bradbury described advertising as a team sport.
"I have been very fortunate to have had a talented and supportive leadership team across Australia and New Zealand over the years. Adrian Paul, Kimberlee Wells, Paul Reardon, Nitsa Lotus, Catherine Harris, Shane Bradnick, Russ Tucker, Roberto Pace, Matt Springate, Evan Roberts… many of us have worked together for well over 10 years. The culture and consistency of our leadership team is something I am very proud of.
"Expect more ‘Pirate Ship’ than ‘steady ship’ creativity from TBWA this year."
