OzTAM, the official source of television audience measurement, will conduct a tender for its Total Video Measurement service contract.
The tender will adopt a modular approach, allowing participants to bid for specific components of the measurement service or for the complete end-to-end solution.
To support this process, OzTAM has engaged Pure X Media, an independent consultancy with specialist expertise in audience measurement tender processes and cross media measurement.
The request for proposal will run through the second half of 2026, with a decision expected in the first quarter of 2027.
Nielsen and Milton Data will remain OzTAM's research service providers throughout the tender, and existing audience measurement services and currency operations are expected to continue uninterrupted during this period.
“Video audience measurement plays a critical role in providing the transparency and accountability that underpins Australia's media market,” said Karen Halligan, chief executive officer of OzTAM.
“This process is about ensuring OzTAM continues to deliver the trusted measurement services our industry relies on, both today and into the future.
“Over the past 25 years, Nielsen has been an invaluable partner in the delivery and evolution of OzTAM's audience measurement services.
“We value that longstanding relationship and welcome their participation in the tender process.”
