Optus says NO to campaign

By AdNews | 29 September 2025

Optus is holding back the launch of a campaign by Droga5 as the telco works through brand damage following the 13-hour 000 emergency call network outage.

The creative account at Optus went to Accenture’s creative arm in June. The media account went to Accenture’s new media unit.

Dislodged was Emotive, UM and M&C Saatchi’s Yes Agency.

Optus then pointed to Droga5’s "world-class creativity" together with Accenture Song Media’s "powerful" media capability.

The telco is now considering its next move.

“We’re in the early stages of investigating and responding to the Triple Zero call failures- which remains our priority,” an Optus spokesperson told AdNews.

“We will, of course, assess future activity at the appropriate time.”
