Omnicom's worldwide revenue in its second fiscal quarter of 2015 decreased by 1.7% to $3,805.3 million from $3,870.9 million in the corresponding quarter of 2014.

The earnings have been released just as RECMA data has been leaked in Australia showing that Omnicom/OMD, for the last financial year, claimed billings of $1.33bn in 2014, versus billings of $1.23bn in 2013.

The firm’s quarter two EBITDA earnings decreased year-on-year by $8.5 million, or 1.5%, to $565.7 million from $574.2 million.  Meanwhile, operating income in the second quarter fell $9.8 million, or 1.8%, to $538.6 million from $548.4 million in the second quarter of 2014.

However, the company says that organic growth has climbed in most local territories: 7.6% in Asia Pacific, 5.9% in North America, 5.4% in the UK, 3.9% in the Eurozone and 11.9% in Africa/Middle East, while organic revenue decreased 9.6% in Latin America when compared to the same quarter of 2014.

The change in organic revenue in the second quarter of 2015 was owed, it says, to “four fundamental disciplines”: advertising increased 6.4%, CRM increased 4.3%, public relations increased 0.3% and specialty communications increased 8.0%.
