Dentsu Queensland has appointed Laura Henry head of strategy.

Henry joins from OMD Australia, where she led the Brisbane-based Create team. Her remit covered social and innovation, entertainment and sport partnerships and creative media solutions.

The move follows a strong year for dentsu Queensland, which reported double-digit revenue growth, won new accounts including Shine Justice, and retained The Lottery Corporation in May.

Henry said she was drawn to dentsu Queensland’s momentum and culture.

“The agency’s momentum, culture and commitment to innovation are truly inspiring,” she said.

“I look forward to collaborating with the talented team and helping shape the next chapter of strategic excellence.”

Chris Ernst, managing director of dentsu Queensland, said Henry’s appointment would strengthen the agency’s strategic offering.

“Laura’s strategic flair and her passion for designing innovative media led solutions makes her a perfect fit for our Queensland team,” Ernst said.

“She is cut from the same cloth as our dentsu Queensland team and is a leader who will complement our people, our partners and our client community.

“I'm excited to work alongside Laura as we activate this next phase of our evolution.”

Dentsu Queensland’s current client base includes Tourism and Events Queensland, Tourism Tropical North Queensland, Brisbane Economic Development Agency, Visit Sunshine Coast, Tourism Whitsundays, Experience Gold Coast and Good Drinks Australia.
