OMD Australia today announced the promotion of Alison Costello to national head of digital and Marelle Salib to national head of investment.

The newly created roles reinforces OMD’s focus on product evolution and add to existing national bench strength in digital and investment.

OMD co-CEO, Sian Whitnall: “OMD’s omni-channel approach has been established for the last six years, the creation of these new roles for Alison and Marelle is testament to our continued focus on the evolution of our product where all media channels are digitised and also to our digital, data and technology strategy that underpins everything we do in both investment and planning.”

Costello, currently head of digital OMD Brisbane, has been a long-time advocate of all things digital and data in her 15 years in media. Over the past two years at OMD she has brought clarity and simplification to the forefront, helping teams and clients capitalise on what is to come in an ever-evolving landscape.

Salib, with more 20 years of industry experience, has a passion for working in investment and has been an integral part of the OMD Investment team for the past ten years. In this time, she has driven the investment product forward for OMD clients, delivering value, innovation and driving efficiencies.

Melissa Hey, OMD Australia’s Chief Investment Officer: “The combination of Marelle and Alison’s skill and passion is a winning formula in setting OMD up for the future and continuing to evolve our product to meet our clients’ needs.

"Marelle has been playing a key role in how we navigate the complex audience changes for our clients and building out our approach with media partners.

"Alison has been responsible for driving the national education agenda at OMD, developing and delivering initiatives that have supported and educated our people and clients in better understanding the consistently evolving marketplace.”

Costello: “To take on a national role out of the Brisbane office is an exciting acknowledgment of the great work and talent developing in this market. I look forward to working alongside Marelle and the team in continuing to grow our clients’ businesses through the evolution of our product.”

Salib: “I’m really excited for this opportunity and looking forward to working with the full suite of OMD’s clients nationally, alongside our exceptional talent. The marketplace is evolving at a rapid pace and, as such, our product and investment strategies continuously evolve to be geared towards future proofing our clients’ businesses as well as educating, nurturing and growing our talent to deliver excellence in execution.”

Costello and Salib’s appointments are effective January 1. They will both report in to OMD Australia’s chief investment officer, Melissa Hey.
