The NSW Government has paused new applications to its Advertising and Digital Communications Services Scheme while it conducts a review of the pre-qualification system.

The scheme, managed by the Department of Customer Service, has grown to almost 350 registered suppliers as of November 2025 and was paused in late 2025 as the department assesses its effectiveness.

"To improve efficiency in managing and delivering the Advertising and Digital Communications Services Scheme, the Department of Customer Service temporarily paused new applications in late 2025 as it's timely to conduct a periodic review to ensure it continues to be effective," a spokesperson told AdNews.

"The scheme is planned to reopen to new applicants in the coming months, current suppliers on the scheme are not impacted."

The scheme was established in June 2014 and provides a pre-qualification pathway for advertising and communications suppliers seeking to work with NSW Government agencies.

Participation in the scheme is not mandatory for NSW Government buyers to consider suppliers for work.

Business owners can also register directly on the Supplier Hub at buy.nsw.gov.au and select categories relevant to their operations, such as marketing and advertising.

The review is expected to conclude in the coming months, with the scheme set to reopen to new applicants once complete.
