Nine Upfront: Tipping Point to debut in 2024, MAFS and The Block return

Nine have announced an extensive slate of both new and returning content arriving in 2024, including a new project with details to come about Tracy Grimshaw returning to Channel 9 in 2024, as well as news and current affairs and sports.

New in 2024:

Tipping Point Australia

2024 is the year Australians have been waiting for as the worldwide game show phenomenon, Tipping Point arrives.

Hosted by Australian sporting legend Todd Woodbridge, three players will answer general knowledge questions, hoping to win counters which can be used on a large coin pusher, arcade-style Machine. Contestants from all over Australia will have the chance to win mystery prizes along with cash prizes, if they can beat the Machine. 

Tipping Point Australia is produced by Endemol Shine Australia (a Banijay company) for the 9Network. 
 

Human Error 

Inspired by actual events, 9Network’s new drama series, Human Error, follows Detective Holly O’Rourke and her homicide team as a seemingly open-and-shut murder investigation threatens to destroy her career, her family, and her faith in justice.

From the creative talents behind UnderbellyBumpOffspring and Love My WayHuman Error is executive produced by John Edwards and Dan Edwards with producers Greg Haddrick and Samantha Winston, alongside The Age’s legendary crime reporter and podcaster John Sylvester (Underbelly) as story consultant. Cast to be announced soon. 

Human Error is a Roadshow Rough Diamond production for the 9Network with major production investment from Screen Australia in association with Nine.  Financed with support from VicScreen. International distribution will be handled by ITV Studios. 


Blood On The Tracks - the Platform Killer
When a train commuter is found dead during peak hour, police suspect suicide. But when Detective Kate Fletcher finds links to an 'accidental' death at a suburban station, she  suspects something far more sinister in the 9Network’s new crime thriller, Blood On The Tracks - the Platform Killer.

Do You Want to Live Forever?

What if it was possible to reverse ageing, end disease and live forever? In the 9Network’s groundbreaking new series, Do You Want to Live Forever?, Dr Nick Coatsworth will guide six Australians on a powerful journey to stop the clock and turn back time.


Beyond The Dream

On the path to Paris 2024, the Beyond The Dream documentary series goes beyond the headlines to discover the untold stories that led to some of the greatest Olympic and Paralympic moments.

Jeopardy! Australia.

Australia will get its very own version of the hit international quiz show Jeopardy! with Jeopardy! Australia

Hosted by English broadcaster and actor Stephen Fry, Jeopardy! Australiawill feature a cast of Australian competitors in one of the world’s longest-running game shows. 

Flipping the traditional Q&A format, Jeopardy! presents answers first in the form of short, written clues. Contestants must then respond in the form of a question that correctly identifies the clue description. This general knowledge showdown is an opportunity to amass a lucrative cash prize the longer contestants can stay in the game.

Jeopardy! Australia is a Whisper North production for the 9Network. 


The Garden Hustle

A new gardening makeover program, The Garden Hustle, will give everyone a chance to create their slice of backyard bliss, no matter how green their thumb is. 

Hosted by Australian actress Lisa McCune and garden landscaper, The Block’s Dave Franklin (along with resident pooch Robin), this series follows everyday homeowners and renters on their journey to create their very own garden oasis. 

The Garden Hustle is an Ambience Entertainment production for the 9Network, created and produced by Monica O’Brien. 


Listing Melbourne

High-stakes deals, demanding clients and unbreakable bonds make the 9Network’s hot new series Listing Melbourne your new pleasure for addictive viewing next year. 

Six elite real estate agents navigate Melbourne’s property market, showcasing opulent homes while juggling their complicated personal lives in a program that gives viewers a captivating glimpse into one of the most glamorous real estate markets in the world.

Listing Melbourne is produced by Abode Entertainment for the 9Network.


Budget Battlers

In a time when Australians need it the most, The Block’s Norm and Jess will carry out incredible renovations for unsung heroes while showing viewers how you can renovate an entire home on a budget in the 9Network’s new series, Budget Battlers

Married at First Sight

Married at First Sight returns in 2024 for its 11th season. 

This season will see the powerful combination of a new set of participants ready for their chance at love, along with all of the romance, passion, emotion and drama that comes with it.

The Block

The Block hits an incredible milestone in 2024, heading into a huge 20th season. There are big plans for this special season with high anticipation for next year’s location. 

Plus, host Scott Cam will be back for his 18th season to guide the five keen teams along the way. As usual, at stake will be $100,000 for the overall winner on auction day, on top of any profits made.

LEGO Masters Australia

9Network’s homegrown family sensation has taken off around the world, now the world is coming back!

In our Olympic year, it’s “Australia vs The Rest Of the World” at LEGO  Masters with four brand new Australian teams taking on the four best LEGO teams who have previously competed in their homelands.

The Summit

In a stunning new location, season two will return even bigger in 2024, hosted by Australian actor and Hollywood star Jai Courtney.

A new group of Australian go getters will embark on an unforgettable adventure, conquering the impossible to reach the top of one of New Zealand’s highest mountains and earn the chance to walk away with a share of $1 million. Travel Guides

Hot on the heels of its second consecutive Logie win, Travel Guides is back in 2024, giving viewers the perfect way to see the world from the comfort of their living rooms. 

Featuring both extraordinary overseas adventures and domestic delights, the seventh season of Travel Guides will see favourite travel critics return, including Newcastle’s budget-hunting Fren family, happy-go-lucky couple Matt and Brett, retired jetsetters Kevin and Janetta, and best mates Kev, Dorian and Teng. 

Joining them on the road for the first time will be Karly and Bri, two besties who met while filming Beauty and the Geek for Channel 9 a couple of years ago and have been inseparable ever since. 

Narrated by popular Aussie comedian Denise Scott, Travel Guides is produced by Nine.


The Hundred with Andy Lee

The Hundred with Andy Lee is back in 2024, with 100 everyday Aussies and some of our funniest comedians coming together to find out what the country is really thinking.

Season six of The Hundred will tackle more of society’s biggest (and smallest) questions like: What percentage of The Hundred have had to cut a date short for a bathroom emergency? How many people have hooked up with the same person as their sibling? How many of our Hundred have moved back in with their parents as adults? 

Handpicked to represent the demographic makeup of Australia, The Hundred will once again be polled live via Zoom to give us the stories behind the stats, while three comedy panellists battle it out on each episode to see who knows Australia best.

RPA 

The leading and captivating real-life series that ignited Australia’s love of observational documentaries, RPA, is returning in 2024 to once again give viewers unique and exclusive access into one of Australia’s leading public hospitals, Royal Prince Alfred in Sydney. 

The compelling series gives insight into the inner workings and behind-the-scenes drama of the famous hospital. From the Emergency Department to the wards and operating theatres, RPA will showcase the amazing dedication of the doctors, nurses and specialists.

RPA is a 9Network series, produced by McAvoy Media with the cooperation of patients and staff at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.


Big Miracles

Australia’s most heartwarming and emotionally powerful program, Big Miracles, returns for a second season in 2024, narrated by one of Australia’s most popular screen and theatre actress Lisa McCune. 

With one in six Australians experiencing infertility, this ground-breaking, captivating and intimate series is about the ultimate quest to create new life. It invites viewers to see, feel and be captured by the very raw and emotional journey into one of the most fundamental human experiences of all, trying to have a baby, against the overwhelming odds, through IVF and other fertility treatments.

Emergency

The unique, fly-on-the wall Emergency series is back, giving viewers rare and exclusive access to the riveting stories in one of Australia’s biggest trauma hospitals

With returning favourites and a slew of new faces, Emergency will once again pull back the curtain in casualty for an honest, revealing look at the busy frontline where hero doctors and nurses save lives every day.

Paramedics

In 2024, a new season of Paramedics will offer audiences exclusive and unprecedented access to our frontline emergency service personnel as they render assistance to those in their time of need. 

This gripping factual series captures the intimate, first-hand account of each medical emergency as it unfolds through the eyes of paramedics. 

Paramedics is a WTFN production for the 9Network.


Space Invaders

Space Invaders is back to help everyday families escape their clutter nightmares and lighten their homes and their hearts with a fourth season of this inspirational program.

Join declutter guru Peter Walsh, renovation queen Cherie Barber and obsessive collector Angie Kent as they use their skills, compassion and good humour to guide struggling Aussies through a life-changing journey with amazing renovations and unbelievable  transformations, as well as sharing decluttering tips and tricks to help us all improve our lives.

Parental Guidance

Narrated by Andrew Daddo, the new series will capture the drama and danger police face every day – from major roadside drink-driving operations and mobile breath testing to high-speed pursuits and drivers under the influence of drugs.

Planet Earth III 

The remarkable Planet Earth trilogy concludes with Planet Earth III, which explores more of the world’s most magnificent habitats and the incredible animals that reside within.

Getaway is returning for another season of exploration and adventure in 2024.

Presenters Catriona Rowntree, David Reyne, Jason Dundas, Charli Robinson and Lincoln Lewis and a lineup of other familiar faces will crisscross continents and traverse borders, unveiling a treasury of hidden gems and savvy travel tips along the way.

For the Love of Pets

The heartwarming series For the Love of Pets returns to the 9Network, giving viewers an unrivalled look behind the scenes into the workings of RSPCA Queensland and QVS/Pet Emergency.

For the Love of Pets will follow the passionate and colourful characters at RSPCA’s sprawling Wacol campus who devote their lives to the animals in their care, from vets performing life-changing surgeries to the re-homing team working tirelessly to care for and re-home thousands of animals each year.

Swimming

Australia’s world-beating swimming team has eyes on the glittering prize in 2024 with the World Aquatics Championships Doha and the Australian Olympic team trials for the Paris Olympic Games, for which the swimming finals will be available exclusively on Channel 9HD and 9Now in prime time.

It all begins in Doha for the World Aquatics Championships on February 2, followed by the Australian Olympic trials before Paris 2024.


Australian Open, Grand Slam tennis

Nine will serve up an epic year of Grand Slam Tennis with the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open available exclusively across the 9Network, 9Now and Stan Sport.  

It all begins in January with lead-up tournaments that include the star studded United Cup, before viewers receive wall-to-wall coverage of the 2024 Australian Open. 

Throughout the year tennis fans can keep their eye on the ball with every match from all four Grand Slams, the Laver Cup streaming ad-free, live and on demand on Stan Sport.


Rugby league

Another thrilling rugby league season will arrive in 2024, when the biggest games and the biggest names are all live and free on Channel 9HD and 9Now for the network’s 33rd consecutive year of broadcasting. 

Each week viewers will get Thursday Night, Friday Night and Sunday Arvo NRL, mixed with the best magazine shows on offer both on the 9Network and 9Now. Nine’s Logie Award-winning State of Origin coverage goes to new heights in 2024 when the biggest sporting rivalry in Aussie sport is exclusive, live and free on Channel 9HD and 9Now. 

Offering unmatched drama and passion that captivates record-breaking audiences every year, fans can watch all three games in the State of Origin series, with additional camera angles on 9Now. 


Rugby

Super Rugby in 2024 shines a light on the best rugby players in the southern hemisphere when Wide World of Sports broadcasts a weekly game for free across the 9Network. 

With the Brumbies, Waratahs, Reds, Force and Rebels taking on the might of New Zealand rugby powerhouses in the Crusaders and Chiefs, the emerging Wallabies will get their chance to show their talent leading into the Rugby Championship and Bledisloe Cup in August and September.

NRL Sunday Footy Show

Plus, the hard-hitting Footy Classified returns to set the agenda for the 2024 season, with the breaking-news and analysis program every Monday and Wednesday night. 


WNBL on 9Now

9Now jumps onto the court for women’s basketball this year when the WNBL 2023-24 season tips off on 9Now in November.
