Nine’s chief financial officer Greg Barnes is leaving the business after three years in the role.

Barnes first joined the media company in July 2016 and recently oversaw Nine’s takeover of Fairfax Media.

He has also served as the chair of CarAdvice and as a director of Stan.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Nine. We have achieved a great deal during that period, not the least of which was the completion of the merger with Fairfax - it’s been an exciting time,” Barnes says.

Barnes will be stepping down from the role at the end of the month following the release of the FY19 results.

Nine is currently looking for Barne’s replacement with an appointment expected to be announced soon.

Barnes has not revealed his plans.
