News Corp Australia has established a new division to focus on its partnerships with tech giants.

The new division is headed by Nicholas Gray who was previously managing director of The Australian, NSW, ACT, and Prestige Titles.

Under Gray’s leadership, the team will focus on its partnerships with tech platforms such as Google, Facebook, and Apple.

“The team will negotiate and implement these deals, grow these relationships and further develop our off platform distribution capabilities across our social media, SEO and audience development groups, working closely with our editorial and tech teams,” says Gray, tech networks and news channel partnerships managing director.

The division is currently hiring for a general manager, head of strategy and delivery, and a tech network partnerships manager.

News Corp Australia has recently struck deals with Facebook and Google following the news media bargaining code which was passed by parliament earlier this year.

The publisher also signed onto Apple’s news service, News+, when it launched in Australia in 2019.
