News Corp Australia has appointed Nandor Locher chief digital and technology officer.

He succeeds Julian Delany, who was promoted News Corp's global chief technology officer based in New York.

Locher will lead News Australia's technology, data and digital roadmap across three key pillars: delivering premium user experiences, leveraging data and content capabilities, and developing innovative client solutions.

His priorities include further platform modernisation, accelerating product speed-to-market, ongoing integration of artificial intelligence to enhance business processes, and scaling personalisation and growth initiatives.

He brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience across financial services, loyalty, retail and aviation sectors, including technology and business roles at IAG, Woolworths, Qantas and Virgin Australia.

"We are delighted to welcome Nandor to News," said News Corp Australasia executive chairman Michael Miller.

"His proven track record of delivering customer-focused digital transformation across major Australian companies makes him ideally suited to lead our technology agenda as we continue to innovate and evolve our platforms to serve our audience of more than 18 million Australians."

Locher said the intersection of technology and media represents one of the most dynamic spaces in Australian business today.

"I'm thrilled to join Australia's leading media company and contribute to enhancing the digital experience for millions of users while driving innovation across the organisation," he said.

Locher starts March 2026.
