News Corp Australia has appointed Hannah Moore as the editor of NewsWire, the company’s dedicated breaking news service.

The announcement was made today by Mick Carroll, editor-in-chief of Free News and Lifestyle Mastheads.

Moore succeeds Katie Davies, who departs the business following a four-year tenure.

Since joining NewsWire in 2020, she has moved through the ranks as a reporter, chief of staff, and most recently, deputy editor.

Her experience also includes a year-long stint as news editor at news.com.au and a period as NewsWire’s acting editor.

With over a decade of industry experience, Moore takes over a service that has become a cornerstone of News Corp’s content engine.

“The NewsWire prides itself on delivering fast, factual journalism, and over the past 18 months has enjoyed a strong period of growth in terms of clients and traffic performance,” Carroll said.

“Hannah will continue to steer the NewsWire onto greater success.”

Moore calls the move a career highlight.

“It is a career highlight to now be able to lead the team, whose speed, skill and love of a good story is nothing short of inspiring,” she said.

“I look forward to seeing the team continue to lead on coverage of the nation's biggest stories, and grow into 2026.”
