News Corp Australia and Outbrain ink deal

Outbrain and News Corp Australia have closed a multi year agreement to use AI powered recommendation technology,  Smartlogic, across the media group's digital properties.

This deal, part of a phased rollout in early 2024, will see the integration of Outbrain's publisher suite, including monetisation, audience development and total revenue optimisation technology.

Eve Solomon, VP and MD of publisher business development at Outbrain, says this collaboration is a monumental milestone for Outbrain.

Paul Blackburn, director of commercial data video and product at News Corp Australia, says Outbrain’s sophisticated technology, experience and focus on audience engagement complements News Corp's vision for growth and innovation.

The collaboration builds on Outbrain's network of publishers in Australia, which includes major Nine Entertainment, Daily Mail Australia and Australian Community Media.

News Corp Australia reaches 16.7 million online Australians every month and according to the latest Ipsos Iris rankings, news.com.au drew an audience of 12.6 million in the month of December.
